Girl’s Body Found In Dam In Gurez

SRINAGAR —The body of a teenage girl, who went missing since Monday afternoon, was fished out from the Kishenganga Hydroelectric Project Dam in Gurez area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday morning.

The girl was identified as Rubeena, 16, daughter of Fakir Mohammad Lone, a resident of Gund Gulsheikh Tulail. Reports said Rubeena slipped into the dam while she was walking there.

The girl’s body was later recovered from the dam site.

Her body was fished out after hectic efforts by marine commandoes and handed over to the family for last rites, an eye witness said.

The girl was reported to be missing from a site near the dam since Monday afternoon.
