Adv Altaf moves court to fight discrimination against police

SRINAGAR — Renowned Sociopolitical Activist Advocate Altaf Lone has moved to JK High court to fight for rights of police employees. 

Advocate Altaf has filed a writ petition in J&K High Court on behalf of Javid Ahmad Sheikh of Lar, who had made a pointwise representation regarding the Grievances of Police Department to fight against disparity in 7th pay commission. 

Lone said “Police has been neglected in 7th pay commission. There is a huge disparity in the pay of police and other employees. Why police have been neglected despite being most challenging job.”

” I will legally go to any extent to ensure justice for the police department. They have suffered a lot in harsh times.”

The court has Accepted the petition and government has been given three weeks time to reply. The hearing of the case is on 12 July.
