IUST Organizes Community Health Program

AWANTIPORA — As a part of societal responsibility, IUST is trying its level best to reach to the different sections of the society through education, research and various outreach programs.

In this regard, Syed Mantaqi Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology (SMMCN&MT), IUST, Awantipora held two-day School Health Program (29th-30th May 2018) to aware and sensitize the community especially the youth.

The program was held at Govern­ment Primary School, Aghazpora Awantipora and Hajahad Public School, Awantipora. Around 1760 students and 63 school teachers participated in the program which included training about brush­ing technique, health assessment, Mass-Deworming, and health awareness regarding various emerging communicable diseases etc.

Toothbrushes and various An­thelminthic drugs were distribut­ed to the students free of cost after proper medical consultation. The concerned school Principals and teachers appreciated the program and expressed their gratitude and happiness in conducting such programs in future as well.

The programme held under the super­vision of Ms. Asmat Parveen, I/c Principal SMMCN&MT was coor­dinated by Ms. Anjum Khurshid and Ms. NighatParveen both As­sistant Professorsand Ms. Roohi Amin, Tutor of the college.
