SrinagarDepartment of Physical Education of Islamia College of Science and Commerce Thursday started its brand new sports season with a couple of Badminton games, a statement from the organisers said.
Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, principal of the college and Convener Sports Committee Prof. Shamim Ahmad inaugurated the season with inter-group badminton tournament.
The first game of the tournament was played between ICS Blues and ICS Reds which was won the former by 2-1. For Blues, Ayash, Jumaid and Umair won their singles matches quite emphatically.
The second game of the day was ICS Oranges beat ICS Yellows by 2-0. The semi-finals of the tournament will be played on Friday between ICS Blues and ICS Whites, and ICS Greens and ICS Oranges.
After badminton, inter-group tournaments will be played in cricket, volleyball, football, table tennis and basketball.
