The next step is to choose which examination to appear for to gain admission into the top law colleges of the country. Here, we have mentioned 5 such exams that will ensure admission in top colleges facilitating law education in India.
Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)
This is a national level entrance examination conducted for candidates seeking admission in one of the nineteen national law universities in India. Some other universities also consider its scores for admission in the law programs offered by them.
CLAT is conducted by 19 different law schools on a rotational basis every year. This is the most competitive law exam and more than 50,000 students sit for it each year. Clearing this exam ensures a jump start to the law career of dreams of the candidates. The test is conducted online for a duration of 2 hours. It has five sections with 200 multiple choice questions. CLAT 2018 is scheduled for May 13, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Interested candidates can register for the same by March 31, 2018.
- Law School Admission Test (LSAT) India
LSAT India is a national level standardized exam designed by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC). It tests the reading and verbal reasoning skills of the candidates. The test will be held offline for a duration of 2 hours and 20 minutes and have four sections with 92-100 multiple choice questions. It is scheduled to be conducted on May 20, 2018, across multiple cities. You can register for the same online by May 4, 2018.
- All India Law Entrance Test (AILET)
This is a university level examination conducted by the National Law University (NLU), Delhi for candidates aspiring to secure admission in the five-year integrated undergraduate and two-year postgraduate law programs offered by NLU Delhi. The test will be held offline for a duration of one and a half hours. It will have five sections with 150 questions carrying 1 mark for each right. Negative marking of 0.25 mark will be applicable for each wrong attempt. The test will be conducted on May 6, 2018. Aspirants can register for the same online, by April 7, 2018.
- UPES Law Studies Aptitude Test (ULSAT)
It is a university level examination conducted by University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun. With this test, the aspirants will be eligible for admission into various law courses offered by UPES. The test will be either online or offline at different locations for a duration of 3 hours. It has 5 sections with 150 multiple choice questions. The online test will be conducted on May 5, 2018, and the offline test, that is pen and paper test, will be conducted from May 11 to 12, 2018. You can register for this exam through both offline and online modes by April 25, 2018.
- Bharati Vidyapeeth Common Entrance Test Law (BVP CET)
This too is a university level exam conducted by the Bharati Vidyapeeth University. By qualifying for this examination, the students become eligible for admission into the law programs offered by BVP University. The test will be conducted offline for two days, in six cities. The duration of the exam is 2 hours. It has 4 sections with 100 multiple choice questions carrying 1 mark each. The test will be conducted on June 23 and 24, 2018. Interested candidates can register online by June 19, 2018.
