SrinagarIn order to create awareness about the rising trends of coronary artery disease especially with onset of harsh winters, Directorate Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) today launched Save Hearts Initiative at RFPTC Building, Barzulla.
The event was inaugurated & chaired by Director Health Services, Kashmir Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman wherein in doctors from peripheral health institutes, SKIMS and SMHS Hospital took part.
The Director in his inaugural speech stressed for the importance of this initiative and also stated that 21st December of every year will be observed by the department as Save Hearts Day so to sensitise the public about the various cardiac ailments and ways to prevent the same.
Observing Save Hearts Day and promoting Save Hearts Initiative aims at kick starting training, guidance, professional support to all doctors serving in the remotest areas of the valley on a routine basis. It aims at creating a dynamic and integrated professional network amongst the medicos of the region.
After the success of such integrated network to decrease mortality in the west, this novel mechanic was discussed in detail during the event.
Cardiologist Dr Imran Hafeez and Dr Irfan Bhat gave their expert insight into the initiative.
Physician Dr Nasir Shamas and Dr Muzafar Zargar elaborated on the steps required to overcome real world obstacles in cardiac emergency care.
The event was organised by Epidemiologist Kashmir, Dr Rehana Kausar.
