‘Abductor’ On The Run, Police Seeks Public Assistance

Srinagar—The Jammu and Kashmir Police has sought the help of the general public to trace an accused involved in the abduction of a girl from Ganderbal district of central Kashmir.

A police spokesman said the accused, Manzoor Ahmad Khan, son of Chandi Khan, Resident of Alastang-Ganderbal, has kidnapped a girl but was at large.

He said Ganderbal police needs the help of the general public to trace the accused. “Anybody having any information regarding the accused may please contact general police”, he added.

Meanwhile, he said, police has nabbed a person involved in the kidnapping of a girl from Awantipora area of Pulwama district.

Giving details, he said a person complained to police on December 19 that his minor sister has been abducted by Abid Ahmad Sheikh, the resident of Sharshali.

The police swung into action and arrested the accused in Srinagar along with the girl. After completion of legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs, the spokesman said.
