Tral shuts for 3rd day

Tral—A complete shutdown was observed in south Kashmir’s Tral town of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday against the death of a civilian.

Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh who was injured in a grenade blast last week succumbed to his injuries in the hospital on Wednesday. Earlier two civilians–Rattandeep Kour alias Pinky Kour daughter of Ichpal Singh resident of Chattargam and Ghulam Nabi Trag son of Ghulam Ahmad Trag resident of Tral-e-Payeen were killed after a grenade attack on the cavalcade of PDP leader and R&B minister Naeem Akhtar. At least 30 persons including some forces personnel were also injured in the incident. The incident received widespread condemnation from the government, militant outfits and joint resistance leadership.

Reports said that all the shops, educational institutions and business establishments remained shut while skeletal movement of vehicles was observed on the roads.
