JE’s Suicide case:Court grants bail to in-laws,state to challenge order 

Srinagar: A court here has granted bail to in-laws of a junior engineer, Mudasir Aziz, who was allegedly forced to commit suicide in May this year. 

Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar granted interim bail to Javaid Ahmad Bangri of Illahi Bagh Soura, his sister Naziya Shafi and Aunt Sabeena Majid till September 21.

The trio were under detention in central Jail Srinagar and were released after the court orders.

Mudasir Aziz reportedly committed suicide by jumping into river Jhelum near Old Zaina Kadal Bridge. Her body was recovered on June 23 in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

An FIR (29/2017) was registered in police station M.R Gunj. The police arrested Javaid (Aziz’s persons from her in-laws family including her husband and booked them under sections 306 RPC (abetment of suicide), 498A RPC (domestic violence) and 120B RPC (criminal conspiracy).

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted by the police headed by Deputy Superintend of Police Khanyar, to probe the death of the engineer.

Senior Prosecuting Officer Mohammad Saleem, representing the case said they will challenge the decision in the session court.
