‘Despite Assurances, Intimidation of Kashmiri Students On’

Srinagar: Strongly condemning the harassment and threatening of three Kashmiri students by Punjab police, Hurriyat Conference (G) Wednesday said that despite assurances, intimidation and harassment of Kashmiri students continues unabated.

Hurriyat (G) said in a press release that “India was no more a safe place for Kashmiri students” and alleged that they are suspected everywhere and hounded simply because of their Kashmiri origin.

Referring to the statement of home minister, Rajnath Singh wherein he had directed states to provide sufficient security to Kashmiri students, Hurriyat said, it is just to cover up their wrong doings and aimed to mislead international community.

Hurriyat (G) spokesman doubted the advisory issued to states and said that it proved mere hoax and Punjab incident vindicates and elucidates that situation remained unchanged.
