PMJA store opened in Downtown 

Srinagar: In order to make the availability of generic medicines available on economical rates to the common people, Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Stores are being opened by BPPI Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers Department of Pharmaceuticals round the country, officials said.

According to the statement issued to KNS, in this direction, the state coordinator of the centrally sponsored scheme, Rifat Nazir is taking keen interest in getting such medicine outlets established in the markets of J&K State besides in and around the government and private hospitals here.

The second open market Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi store of generic medicines in the Srinagar city was today inaugurated by Drug Controller J&K Lotika Khaujria at Khanyar Srinagar near Gousia Hospital.

While talking on the occasion, Rifat Nazir said that the demand for Jan Aushadhi medicines is increasing day by day and I’m personally very happy that common people are getting benefitted from the scheme.

She further said that the goal of the government is to take Jan Aushadhi scheme to every block of the country.

Rifat stated that starting such store in the downtown area was a dream, which has finally materialized.

She informed media that by end of this year, 3000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras are being opened round the country of which about 135 stores will be established in the state of J&K.
