Share

Srinagar: Senior Congress leader and former Minister, Prof Saifuddin Soz Friday asked Hurriyat leadership and civil society members to meet the Indian delegations who likely are visiting Kashmir in coming days.

He said that that India’s Civil Society has finally taken adequate notice of the critical situation of Kashmir and many of its representatives have decided to visit Kashmir.

“Apart from the National opposition leaders, who have decided to visit Kashmir and simultaneously hold a conclave in New Delhi, many other leaders have decided to visit Kashmir and share the peoples’ agony, rather closely.”

“I understand that M/s P. Chidambaram, Mani Shankar Aiyar, Dr. Karan Singh and Ram Jathemalani might visit here in their individual capacity. Some Civil Society members have also decided to set up a seminar on Kashmir in Srinagar, Soz said and added that he has a feeling that the Hurriyat leadership, members of other political parties and the general run of Kashmir’s civil society would meet the delegations and the prominent individuals that have decided to visit Kashmir.

“I have a feeling that people of Kashmir will have no inhibitions to express their ideas freely. I am sure, the discussions with the individuals and the group of political leaders will finally lead to a decisive dialogue with the Union of India,” he said.
