SRINAGAR: The provincial Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) of the Department of Information and Public Relations for Kashmir, which met here today after a gap of six years, has approved promotion of 35 employees of the office of Joint Director Information Kashmir and various District Information Centres of Kashmir division. The last DPC meeting for the Kashmir province was convened in 2011.
Pertinently, the DPC meetings convened at the Directorate and provincial levels during the past two years have approved almost 108 promotions in the Department of Information, removing extended stagnation of employees at various levels.
Earlier, the DPC meeting of Directorate of Information and Public Relations was convened in Jammu last March, after a gap of five years, which approved promotion of 33 employees of the Directorate of Information.
Similarly, the DPC meeting at the provincial level for Jammu was also convened in last March after a gap of six years, approving promotion of 40 employees of the office of Joint Director Information Jammu.
Hailing the convening of DPC meeting and affecting promotions at various levels in Kashmir province, the employees of the Information Department have thanked Chief Secretary/Administrative Secretary Information Department, B B Vyas, Director Information, Mr Arun Manhas, Additional Secretary Information, R K Katock, Joint Director Information (Headquarters), Abdul Majid Zargar, Joint Director Information Kashmir, Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Deputy Director Information (PR) Kashmir, Farooq Ahmad Baba, Administrative Officer, Directorate of Information, Mohammad Munnawar Khawaja and other officers and officials of the Department for fulfilling their long pending demand.
The employees said that the move would go a long way not only in their career progression, but also strengthening their resolve to work with fresh commitment and dedication for the Department.
