Posters Of Militants Appear In Shopian

Shopian: Police on Friday reportedly pasted posters of three militants allegedly involved in abduction and killings of Army officer Umar Fayaz. The posters appeared in some parts of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Police claimed that these three militants were involved in the abduction and killing of Ummer Fayaz in Herman village of Shopian district.

They said the militants are from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Hizbul Mujahideen.

A resident of Sudsona village in Kulgam district, Umar was killed in Shopian village where he had gone to attend the marriage ceremony of one of his cousins.

The names of three militants have appeared in these posters who are Ishfaq Ahmed Thokar son of Abdul Majeed and Gayus-ul-Islam son of Bashir Ahmed Thokar both residents of Padderpora and Muhammad Abbas Bhat son of Abdul Jabbar son of Matribugh Shopian.

“These ‘terrorists’ who are involved in many terrorsit acts including the murder of Umar Fayaz Parray son of Fayaz Ahmed resident of Sadsoona Kulgam. A case vide FIR number 94/17 u/s 7/27 Arms Act 16 ULA (P) Act, 302, 364 RPC,” the poster reads adding that any person providing information regarding these ‘criminals’ will be suitably rewarded and his identity will be kept secret.
