TCI-Max-Kashmir-Cycling-Challenge:Top cyclists to be in action on May 25

Srinagar: The TCI Max Kashmir Cycling Challenge organized by Amblin Events would be held on Foreshore road, on May 25, a statement from organisers said on Tuesday.

As per the statement, the event will cater to two age groups. U-17 boys and open senior category that will see professional cyclists of the valley in action. The event organizers, the statement said, expect top cyclists of the State to take part in it and the route has will be on Boulevard, Foreshore stretch.

“It will be first major cycling event to be held in Kashmir this season. In the event top riders from all over Kashmir would be taking part. The competition level would be high in professional category while as Under-17 level will mostly include school going students of various Institutes of Valley,” said Hinan Bhat of Amblin Events.

He said that that the event will carry cash prize for the winners in both categories and will also honor first 10 riders in each category.

“We have kept cash prizes for the winners in both the categories. Our sponsors TCI max insist on promoting the sports and encouraging the players by giving them suitable cash prizes. The cash prize will definitely motivate top riders of State to give their best in the event,” he said.

“We are also looking to collaborate with Sports Council and Tourism department for the event. Though nothing has been final on that front but we expect positive feedback from that end. Apart from that the event has already received big boost as international cycling star of Kashmir Akber Khan has consented to take part in it,” he added.
