Rs 29 cr Solid Waste Plant to come up at Delina

SRINAGAR: Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today chaired a meeting to review the developmental works of district Baramulla under Housing and Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies sector.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Horticulture, Syed Basharat Ahmed Bukhari, MLA Sopore, Haji Abdul Rashid, MLA Baramulla, Javed Hassan Beigh, Commissioner Secretary Higher Education, Commissioner Secretary Housing and Urban development Department, DC Baramulla, Director Local Bodies and other concerned officials.

During the meeting, the Minister directed the officials to go ahead with the construction of Municipal Solid Waste Plant at Delina with the estimated cost of Rs 29 crore. It was said that this plant will be constructed with the use of modern technology and would not lead to any sort of stink in the area.

The Minister directed the officials to explore other areas in Baramulla for the construction of Municipal Solid Waste Plant and asked them to take a team from pollution control board.

Bukhari directed Municipal Corporation Sopore and Municipal Corporation Baramulla to provide Rs 10 lac each for street lighting.

He instructed the officials to speed up the pace of work and finalize all the projects in time bound manner.
