He made these remarks during an interaction with the group of kayaking and canoeing players, who have won 25 medals of Gold, Silver and Bronze in various categories at the recently concluded 6th National Dragon Boat Championship, Men, Women & Mixed held in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh early this month.

Led by J&K’s Kayaking and Canoeing Coach Bilquis Mir, the young athletes had come to express their gratitude for the financial support that the bank extended towards their travel to Bhind, MP for the recently concluded championship. Bilquis pointed out rich water resources available in the state for promoting water sports. “What we need is infrastructure in terms of boats etc and I appeal the chairman to lend financial support to raise appropriate infrastructure for water sports” Bilquis said.

The chairman expressed his willingness to extend whatever possible support for promotion of water sports in the state and asked them to submit a detailed report to enable the bank to take a view in this regard.

Stressing upon the need to keep their focus on the game while representing their state, Parvez Ahmad advised the young boys and girls to develop their personality and propagate rich values to persuade others to emulate the same.
