SRINAGAR: The Governors Secretariat, which had closed at Jammu on 28th April evening, reopened at the Raj Bhavan, Srinagar, on Monday morning.
Governor N. N. Vohra went around the various wings of the Raj Bhavan and met the officers and staff of the Governors Secretariat. He advised all the functionaries to ensure cleanliness, efficiency, promptitude and proper maintenance of the official records. He also directed time bound digitization of all important records and de-weeding of irrelevant papers. The Governor also went around the Raj Bhavan estate and directed assured readiness of the fire fighting system and proper upkeep of the gardens.
PHQ resumes functioning in Srinagar
Police Headquarters and other move offices including Armed Police Headquarters, CID, Security, Crime, Railway, Traffic, Home guards, Police Housing Corporation resumed their functioning at Srinagar, the summer capital of the State on Monday. On the first day the Director General of Police (DGP), Dr. S.P Vaid visited the headquarter offices of different wings, Zonal Police Office, Range Police Office and District Police Office Srinagar.
In the morning, Dr. Vaid was received by senior police officers at PHQ. He was presented a guard of honour by a contingent of Armed Police.
The DGP also chaired a meeting of the heads of different police establishment in the PHQ. The meeting was attended by ADsGP VK Singh, Dilbagh Singh, L Mohanti and AK Choudhary, IsGP SJM Gillani, Alok Puri, MA Khan, Rajesh Kumar, Sunil Kumar, SL Sharma, Jagjit Kumar, MA Ganaie, JP Singh and SK Gupta, DIsGP Nissar Ahmad and GH Bhat, SSP Budgam Tajinder Singh, AIsGP PHQ Dr. Haseeb Mughal, Junaid Mehmood, Mubassir Latifi, Sameer Rekhi and Ab. Waheed Shah, SSP Security Kashmir Maqsood-ul-Zaman and Sr. ADO PHQ Nasir Ahmad Khan.
In his address the DGP exhorted upon the officers to redress the grievances of the general public and directed them to brief the men and officers under their command to provide their best services to the general people and enquire into the complaints brought before them on priority. He inspected different sections of PHQ and was briefed by the section heads regarding the functioning at Srinagar.
