Share

Srinagar: The High Court Monday stayed the judgement of its Single Bench about the reinstatement of a medical doctor who was terminated by the government in 2015 on charges of corruption.

The Division bench of the court comprising Chief Justice Bader Durez Ahmad and Justice Ali Muhammad Magray stayed the Single bench decision of the court where in Justice Yaqoob Mir had ordered reinstatement of a doctor.

The medico was among other 63 government officials, including chief engineers, doctors and KAS officers who were asked to go for compulsory retirement in June 2015 during the regime of late Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed after allegations of corruption were proved against them by the heads of their departments and later proved by Vigilance Organization.

The aggrieved officers had filed writ petitions in the High Court challenging the order. The court had ordered reinstatement of the six officials while petitions of other were pending in the High Courts.

The government has filed Letter Patents Appeal (LPA) through its Advocate General Jahangir Iqbal Ganaie challenging the single bench decision after which the DB stayed the order. (KNS)
