SRINAGAR:- A day after Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti visited SMHS hospital to meet, Iqra Sidiq, who was injured during student protests early this week, said that she does not need sympathies but justice.
Iqra, a B.Com first-year student of Govt College for Women, Nawa Kadal said, I want those government forces to be booked who created havoc in my life, and I dont need anyones sympathies. Allah is sufficient for me,
Recalling the fateful day Iqra said, There was a peaceful protest march taken out by our college and I was also part of it. When we reached near Eidgah chowk the police men, already present there, allowed us to move ahead but a stone was thrown from a bunker of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) that hit my head and rest I dont know anything, Iqra told Kashmir Observer.
What was my fault? Questioned Iqra, there was no stone pelting it was a peaceful procession, they deliberately targeted me without any reason, she said.
Iqra, is looked after by parents, her four sisters and two brothers.
You are my brave child, God is with us, he has given you to me now he will also heel your wounds, Iqras mother consoles her.
I am very thankful to Doctors they worked really hard for my child, her mother said.
Police on Tuesday, however claimed she was injured by a stone hurled by a mob at Sekidafar Chowk in Srinagar.
Police Refutes Rumours
Some miscreants floated rumours regarding Ms Iqra daughter of Mohammad Sidiq Misger resident of Hawal, who was hit by a stone on April 17 at Sakedafar Safakadal during a stone pelting incident. The said girl who is under treatment in SMHS Hospital is recovering fast.
The rumours of her death spread by miscreants are baseless and are as such refuted, a police statement released tonight said.
CM Appeals For Peace
Appealing the people to help restore peace and normalcy in the Valley, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said Kashmir already has witnessed tragic human, educational and economic loss.
Peace only will ensure smooth academic, economic and tourism activities, she said when she visited SMHS hospital to enquire about the condition of Iqra, a student of B.Com Ist year of Nawa Kadal college last evening.
Iqra was injured after she was hit in the head by a stone allegedly hurled from a CRPF bunker during protest by students of Nawa Kadal Women college on Monday last. However, police denied the allegation and said she was hit by a stone thrown by mob.
Ms Mehbooba said Kashmir already witnessed tragic human, educational and economic loss and it cannot afford be pushed into perpetual disempowerment and darkness.
The Chief Minister directed the hospital administration to provide all advanced medical treatment to Iqra adding that if need be she can be shifted outside the state for treatment.
Wishing her a speedy recovery, Ms Mebooba also announced that the Government will take responsibility of educational needs of Iqra and her future job prospects.
