Budgam: Director Urban Local Bodies Kashmir Riyaz Ahmad Wani Wednesday visited Budgam town to access the implementation of Solid Waste Management pilot project which is being implemented by Municipal Committee Budgam with a Private firm BMW Ventures Ltd from last 5 months.
Director expressed his satisfaction over the implementation of this project and directed the Executive Officer to extend the door to door garbage collection and its source segregation to another 8 wards of town so that all the 13 wards are covered under waste management programme.
He paid a visit to compost site where organic manure is made from Bio degradable waste by BMW Ventures Ltd.
would be extended to other towns of Kashmir within coming 3 months.
During his visit Director Local Bodies Kashmir expressed his shock over the illegal constructions being undertaken on Aabi Awal land in Budgam town. He put 6 employees of MC Budgam under suspension for their alleged role in facilitating construction of a multi- storied building in the district.
