SRINAGAR: The erstwhile Palladium Cinema in the heart of Srinagar city currently under use by the paramilitary CRPF is slated to become a heritage museum, the authorities said in a meeting here today.
Chairing a meeting to review the progress of various developmental activities being carried out by the Srinagar Development Authority (SDA), the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, was informed the site was being considered for the construction of a heritage museum.
Khan was briefed that the SDA has acquired 4200 kanals of land at Rakh Gund Aksha for Satellite Colony, while as work is on full swing on multi-level Parking at Press Colony and Sheikhbagh. It was given out that both the projects are being carried out at an estimated cost of Rs 26.91 crore and Rs 22.50 crore respectively.
The Div Com also reviewed preparation of Srinagar Master Plan and status of parking site at Pantha Chowk, besides work on food court and Children Park at Sangarmaal complex and construction of proposed Shehjar Apartments.
Khan also directed the concerned to prepare a detailed report to address water logging issues and repair all toilet blocks in the city for the convenience of the general public.
