‘Forces Have Created Environment of Fear And Terror In Bugam’

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairperson, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, appointed Faiz Naqshbandi as the Convener of the APHC-M Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) Chapter, a statement issued by Hurriyat Conference (M) said on Tuesday.

The statement said Mir Tahir Masood, whose tenure as the Convener had completed, handed over the charge to Faiz Naqshbandi, who was asked to assume the responsibilities of the Convener from February 7.

Terming the performance as Convener by Mir Tahir Masood as “satisfactory”, Mirwaiz hoped that the new Convener, Faiz Naqshbandi will coordinate with all the constituents of the APHC-M and their representatives and try to perform his political duties as well as duties “towards resistance movement with efficiency and dedication”.

Meanwhile, denouncing the arrests of several youth, ransacking of houses, harassment of residents by government forces at Bugam area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, Hurriyat Conference (M) spokesperson said, “police had created a reign of terror in the area by forcefully entering into houses, arresting youth and unleashing worst form of state terrorism on the people.”

“Due to the threat of police and other government forces, people of entire area had abandoned their homes as police had created an environment of fear and terror,” the Hurriyat Conference (M) informed.
