Srinagar: Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) female teachers Thursday staged a massive protest against Director Education Kashmir accusing him of using dilly dally tactics in implementing government order with regard to their regularization.
The Jammu and Kashmir government has already issued regularization orders vide number 242-edu of 2016 dated 30-06-2016 for KGBV female teachers who were waiting for the regularization of their services from past ten years. The government in its order had given authorization to the Director School Education (DSE) Kashmir and Jammu to utilize the SSA vacancies for the regularization of KGBV teachers as a first charge against SSA posts.
The protesting teachers who raised slogans against Education Department officials said that Director School Education Jammu has compiled with the order in letter and spirit and regularized 108 teachers of different KGBVs, however, Director School Education Kashmir is sitting on the order and has not issued a single order till date.
He is not only disturbing us mentally but also forcing us to visit his office on daily basis. Even Education Minister and Commissioner Secretary Education have directed him to comply with the government order, but he is using dilly dally tactics, KGBV Association president Mymoona Khan said.
This is clear discrimination and injustice with the KGBV teachers of Kashmir division. When Director Education Jammu did it, why Director Education Kashmir is playing hide and seek. Sometime he says order will be implemented in two days and sometimes he tells us that Minister and Commissioner Secretary are not willing to implement the government order for Kashmir Division. Frustration has engulfed us and we dont know what to do and whom to approach, Khan said.
The protesting teachers said that the incumbent Director Education Kashmir is not issuing the orders in favour of 8 teachers from frontier district Kupwara even though he has formally signed those orders.
Director Education Kashmir Ajaz Ahmed showed reluctance to talk over the issue while another top official on condition of anonymity said that: its all red-tapism that these teachers will not understand. I feel sorry for these female teachers but cant do anything, he said. (CNS)
