Kishtwar: Seven people were killed in a road accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district on Thursday afternoon.
Police said that the accident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it plunged into the gorge in Padder tehsil of Kishtwar.
A taxi (JK02BL-2914) last evening met with an accident on Gulabgard-Ishtyari road in Padder area of Kishtwar District, said a police official.
He said that the passenger taxi met with an accident near village Thumb some 150 Kms from Kishtwar.
He further added that due to poor road connectivity the police team could not reach on time for rescue operation.
The vehicle plunged into 900 metres deep gorge, he added.The deceased were identified as Manoj Kumar, son of Mohan Lal, resident of Ongaie (driver), Narinder Kumar, son of Gyan Chand, resident of Tham,Sunil Kumar, son of Sahab Singh, resident of Tham, Aman Singh, son of Devan Chand, resident of Swash, Dharminder Singh, son of Kartargh, resident of Bastaun, Rohit, son of Roop Singh, resident of Swash and Rangail Singh, son of Bodh Raj Resident of Swash.
