Srinagar: As Congress Tuesday said that a final call from former PDP leader Tariq Hameed Kara on joining Congress is still awaited, Kara himself said he is continuing consultations with his loyalists and workers and a decision on future course would be based on some issues which require accommodation in his new role.
When contacted J&K Congress President Gh Ahmad Mir said Kara is consulting his workers and loyalists and a decision is yet to be conveyed to Congress by him but media reports about Kara joining Congress and Congress offering him any key party pisition shortly are far from truth.
He said, whenever Kara officially announces his decision to join Congress, the party (Congress) would welcome his decision.
Saying that Kara is still continuing consultations on joining Congress but media reports hinting at the possibility of Congress offering Kara a significant position in the party are far from truth, Mir said any decision on giving Kara any party position would be taken by party
central high command after his joining the party. It is also a point that some veterans are serving the Congress party for the last several decades and central high command would take any decision on giving Kara any party position after thorough consultations.
Meanwhile Tariq Hammeed Kara when contacted told KNS I have consulted my loyalists and workers in Kashmir and am presently taking views of my loyalist in Jammu right now on my future course. I have three options including joining either Congress or National Conference or floating a new party. The party I intend to join has to address the issues which are my concern. After completing consultation with my worker I will take appropriate decision at the appropriate time. (KNS)
