Srinagar: Panic gripped Bijbehara in south Kashmir when security forces opened fire apprehending ambush by militants in a field.
However, the person fired upon turned out to be a drug addict who was high on some contraband.
Official sources said that people ran for safety when security forces opened fire at a person, who was hiding in a field at Jablipora in south Kashmir district of Anantnag.
However, the person managed to flee the spot, they said, adding he was a drug addict, who was taking some contraband in the field and security forces suspect him to be a militant
