Anantnag: Inhabitants of Brinty Dialgam on Tuesday staged protest against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department for failing to provide adequate water supply to them.

The residents said that they are facing acute shortage of water from last eight months. We have requested several times to higher authorities to look into the matter but unfortunately, all in vain, they said.
They said that the authorities had laid pipes four year back for Brinty dialgam but they didnt start their work still now. The work is pending from last four year and people here have been left to face hardships, they said.
Inhabitants said that the field staff of PHE department hardly bothers to look into the sufferings of people. We have never seen them in the field and dont know is there any official deputed for the area or not, they said.
Meanwhile, the residents of Shagus constituency had also staged protest against the department against the move of shifting the filtration plant from their area to other place.
The residents said that the filtration plant has been made for the Shangas Constituency only and its adjoining villages but the government is trying to shift it to other place, which will leave the residents here to suffer.
They said, In case the government fails to fulfill the demands of residents, we will come on streets and will protest the department.
Meanwhile, according to KNS correspondent, Tehsildar Shangas reached the spot and assured people that their genuine demands will be fulfilled.
