9 Kashmiri students bag gold medals at Hyderabad convocation

Srinagar: Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar has felicitated the students from Jammu and Kashmir who were awarded gold medals at the sixth convocation of Moulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) Hyderabad today.

The Education Minister congratulated the gold medal recipient students from J&K including Fowzia Afaq, Zahoor Hussain Bhat, Ulfat Ara, Zahoor Ahmad Sofi from Mass Communication and Journalism Department of MANNU, Raheel Ahmad Trag from English Department, Arif Ahmad Bhat from Mathematics Department, Barkat Hussain Para from Education Department, Akhtar Hussain Shah from Persian Department and Khalil Ahmad from Political Science Department.

Mr Akhtar hoped that other students from J&K will draw inspiration from their talented counterparts and bring laurels to the State. “It is heartening to note that despite facing various constraints, the young boys and girls from J&K are coming out with shining colors in academics, sports and prestigious competitive examinations like IAS, IFS, IPS, JEE,” he said and added that the new initiatives being taken by the Government in education sector are going to expand the horizon of opportunities for the local youth.
