Srinagar: A man was killed by unidentified gunmen in Sopore in north Kashmir district of Baramulla, official sources said here tonight.
They said unidentified gunmen fired at one Nazir Ahmad Mir outside his residence at Bahrampora in Sopore this evening.
The injured was immediately taken to a local hospital from where he was referred to SHMS hospital in Srinagar. However, Mir succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, the gunmen managed to escape from the spot, they said, adding a massive search operation has been launched to nab the accused.
Police have registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident.
