Er Rasheed evicted from pavement outside CM residence

Srinagar: Police Saturday removed MLA Langate and Awami Itihad Party (AIP) Chairman Er Ab. Rasheed from the pavement outside Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s official residence.The lawmaker was on a 48-hour sit in to protest against government decision to issue domicile certificates to West Pakistan refugees living in Jammu and Kashmir.

“At around 11:30 am in the morning today, a team of police led by SHO Sabzar Ahmad reached the spot and dragged Er Rasheed into a vehicle. He was later shifted to his residence in government quarters at Jawahar Nagar,” said a party spokesperson.

Rasheed and his supporters sat on the pavement outside Mehbooba’s Fairview residence on Gupkar road yesterday.
