Srinagar: MLA Langate and Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) chief Er Rasheed on Friday began his 48-hour sit-in outside the residence of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.

Rasheed along with his supporters staged the sit-in on a pavement outside the Mehbooba’s Fairview residence on Gupkar road.

The protesters were holding  playcards reading ‘Refugees are Refugees, Deport them back to Pakistan’; ‘Issuing domicile certificates to them unacceptable’.

The protest will continue for 48 hours, said party spokesperson.

On Thursday, Rasheed had organised a protest march against the same, however, police foiled the march and detained Rasheed in police station Kothi Bagh.
