Stone Pelting, Tear Gas Shelling in Kupwara

Clashes erupted in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday after congregational prayers. Reports and local witnesses said that youth engaged forces personnel in ding dong battles post Friday prayers.
“As soon as the Eid prayers culminated, youth started pro-freedom sloganeering which prompted forces to react,” a local from main Kupwara town said, “and meanwhile stone pelting and tear gas shelling started.” He said that youth destroyed make shift tin walls of CRPF camp. “Even the CRPF men destroyed the window panes of vehicles,” the locals claimed.
