19 Yr Old Girl Jumps into Jhelum, Rescued

SRINAGAR: A young girl on Friday afternoon attempted suicide by jumping into river Jhe­lum in summer capital.

Sources said that a 19 year old girl (name with­held) jumped into Jhelum around 4 PM from Bud­shah bridge. She lives at Chinkral Mohalla.

An onlooker local youth instantly jumped into the river and rescued the girl.

Cops from police sta­tion Shaheed Gunj reached the spot and rushed the girl to Hos­pital. “She is stable and responding to the medi­cines,” a cop said.

Locals as well police have hailed the immedi­ate response of the local youth for saving the life of the young girl.
