Srinagar: While extending his heartfelt Eid Greetings to the Muslim Ummah, Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani appealed for peaceful protest demonstration immediately after the Eid congregational prayers, against the surveillance of Imma (clerics), not banning the liquor in Kashmir, not releasing the political prisoners and harassment of the Jammu Musli.
He said that the Eid is although a day of happiness and blessings but the Kashmiri nation had so far missed the real spirit of this day because of the atrocities and the cruel behavior of the Indian occupational forces against the common people and the people of this troubled region are miserably suffering since last seven decades.
While appealing people to remember the destitute section of the society on the Eid, In a statement issued to KNS, Syed Ali Geelani said that the month of fasting has been termed as the month of mercy and sympathy and it highlights the miseries and sufferings of those people who have no meals to eat and no clothes to wear. We should not forget the families, orphans and widows of those people who have sacrificed their precious lives for the better future of their nation. We have to be extremely kind to the families who had miserably suffered during the ongoing freedom struggle of Kashmir.
While appealing the people to celebrate the Eid with austerity and simplicity and according to the Islamic principles, Syed Ali Geelani said that the Eid-ul-Fiter is the day of seeking forgiveness from the Almighty Allah and a Thanksgiving Day for the people. Geelani sahab also appealed people to stay away from any un-Islamic activity on this day and also keep their wards away from burning of fire crackers.
He said that the Islam teaches its followers a civilized and respectful life and commands to adopt a humble way of living.
Hurriyat (G) chairman expressed his deep sorrow over the not releasing of the political prisoners on the Eid and said that the PDP-BJP coalition government had adopted a very cruel attitude and the political prisoners are being continuously kept in illegal custody.
While criticizing the government for refusing to ban the liquor in the state, Syed Ali Geelani said that the alcohol is an ulcer for the society and it is rapidly consuming our younger generation and is snatching their mental as well as physical abilities.
While expressing his deep anguish over the surveillance of the Imma of the Masajids, increasing influence of the communal minded people in Jammu region and the harassment of the Jammu Musli, Syed Ali Geelani called for peaceful protest after the Eid prayers against the anti-Kashmir and anti-Muslim policies of the government. Mirwaiz extends Eid greetings to Muslim Ummah
Srinagar: On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, Jammu Kashmir Muttaheda Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU) chief and Hurriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Tuesday while extending Eid greetings to the entire Muslim Ummah and the Musli worldwide caught in strife said, if the message of Eid al-Fitr was followed in letter and spirit, it would help the entire world blossom and that in reality only those people deserved to be felicitated who tried to follow the message of holy Quran and fulfill their duties during the month of Ramadan. Stressing that as far as celebrating Eid al-Fitr in Jammu Kashmir was concerned, the Mirwaiz, in his Eid message, said people would, this year too, pray that their innumerable sacrifices do not go waste and resolve to carry forward the resistance struggle until their just struggle reaches its logical conclusion.
He said the Islamic world including Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Kashmiri Musli were caught in a quagmire with innocent people being killed in bloodshed, the message of Eid on this occasion for the Muslim Ummah should collectively stand in unity against the anti-Islamic and oppressive forces to foil their nefarious designs.
Felicitating the Musli throughout the world, who are caught in strife and conflict, the APHC Chairman prayed to the Almighty Allah to make the situation in these places conducive and help Musli reach the heights and earn everyones respect.
Paying tributes to the Hurriyat leaders and freedom-loving people of Kashmir, who have been held in various jails and detention centres in Jammu Kashmir and outside for their resolve and steadfastness toward the resistance movement, he prayed for their good health.
