DOORU: The Minister of State for PDD, PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control and Hajj & Auqaf Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi today said that Government is committed to provide basic amenities to people in every nook and corner of the state.
The Minister was addressing a meeting convened today to review the functioning of departments under his control at town hall, Dooru, Anantnaag.
The Minister directed the concerned to provide adequate drinking water supply to Shankerpora, Shangran and Keeran villages. He also directed PDD authorities for repairing damaged transformers of Hargavas, Kapran villages at the earliest which is pending from last 20 days.
Directing the R&B Engineers for executing the blacktopping of roads of the District within timeframe, the Minister asked to work with close coordination with PHE, Irrigation & Flood control before taking up new developmental projects under the sector.
The Minister directed the authorities of Education and Health departments to redress the issue of shortage of staff on priority basis especially in far-flung and backward areas of Dooru Constituency. He asked the concerned for timely release of pensions to disables, widows and elders.
Directing the Rural Development Department for release of pending wages of MGNREGA workers and contractors, saying that the funds for the purpose has already been allotted to the department.
In view of Eid-ul-Fitr festival, Andrabi directed the officers to provide all facilities to people of Dooru area with regard to ration, additional sugar, flour, adequate supply of potable drinking water and electricity so that they do not face any inconvenience.
He also directed the officials of Municipal Committee, Dooru to ensure cleanliness in all the wards including Kabamarg, Ziarat Ameer Kabeer road, Jamia Masjid Verinaag and Ziarat Sultan-ul-Arifeen, Sendan.
Later, various individuals and delegations met the Minister and apprised him about the problems confronting them. The Minister heard them patiently and assured them that their genuine grievances would be redressed on priority.
SDM Dooru, officers of Revenue, Health, CA&PD, Engineers of PHE, PDD, Irrigation & Flood control and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
