KU switches over to online recruitment process

Share

SRINAGAR: The University of Kashmir has switched over to online recruitment mode to ensure greater transparency in the appointment process and speed up filling up of all the vacant posts.

Under the new system, applications for posts to be advertised by the University henceforth will have to be filled up online via a portal on the University’s website www.kashmiruniversity.net, under the “Recruitments” tag.

To begin with, the University has invited applications for various posts of Assistant Professors, to be filled up online only, and the system shall be thereafter extended to posts of Associate Professors/Professors and Career Advancement Scheme promotions as well.

The applicants shall have to fill in all the details—Qualification, Research, Experience, Journals, Publications etc—in the online application form on the portal where options of deposition of application fee through e-payment mode or against pay-in-slip—and later deposition of hardcopy of forms—are also available.

The new system shall inform and keep updated the applicants about various processes of submission of applications as also their status. The applicants can access these details through their usernames and assigned passwords, besides through e-mail/SMS as well.

The process is designed in such a way that various stages of the recruitment process like issuance of merit lists for objections (if any), short-listing of candidates, interview letters, e-mail and SMS, shall be accessed by the applicants. Further, the system would also check online various claims of made by the applicants like publication(s), research papers etc using various IT tools.

For the convenience of the applicants, full application submission process has been defined in different slides on the University website.

KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi said technological interventions in functioning of university systems shall ensure greater transparency in its dealings. “Through this system, we want everything (related to the recruitment process) to be accessible to our job applicants.

And then, it would also enable us to speed up the recruitment process,” he said.
