No shortage of ration, sugar in the state: Zulfkar

SRINAGAR:- Minister for CA&PD, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today informed the House that the department is providing ration to the consumers regularly, particularly on the occasion of Holy festivals including Tamdeh, Nirjala Ekadashi and Ramzan.

 Replying to Calling Attention Notice by Mr. Sat Paul Sharma regarding irregular supply of ration  especially sugar  to the consumers in spite of holy festivals, the Minister said that against the total monthly allocation of 270360 qtls of ration due for the month of June 2016, 247863 has been distributed in Jammu till date. 

 “So far as the distribution of sugar is concerned, there is no shortage of sugar in the state as on date. In Jammu division, 25560 qtls of sugar has been received out of which 17222 qtls stand distributed,” the Minister said.

He said in Kashmir division against the requirement of 33500 qtls of sugar, 32565 qtls of sugar has been received and distributed among the beneficiaries till date.
