India Interested In Land, Not Kashmiris: Hurriyat

SRINAGAR: Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar said that the Indian policy makers and the Sangh Parivar are only interested in the land of Kashmir and to continue their “forced occupation here they are ready to eliminate every Kashmiri with bombs and bullets.”

Akbar said that the silence of PDP over the bombardment demand of its close ally BJP has exposed their soft policy towards the Kashmir issue and Pakistan.

“It has proven that these slogans are merely their election stunts and they have completely surrendered before the agendas of RSS. Mehbooba Mufti and some of her ministers have completely gone through the “Shudhi Karan” (baptized) process and they try to be more loyal towards the Nagpur than Nirmal Singh,” he said.

He termed the bombardment remarks of BJP members as their “frustration and mental illness”.

“These types of warnings are outdated and old-fashioned now. Pakistan is also an atomic power now and these kinds of stupid statements will start such a destructive war between the two nations that will burn the entire South Asian region,” said Akbar.

Kashmir, he said, is an international issue and a conflict zone and all the political uncertain and instable situations prevailing in the region are a result of the lingering of this issue.

“Kashmiris are struggling for their basic and birth rights the right to self determination since last 7 decades and India does not respond properly to their just demand,” he said.

“No conscious person will be happy and satisfied with the bloodshed in Jammu and Kashmir and the loss of precious human lives on both the sides but India only is responsible for all this. The rigid and stubbornness of India is the root cause of the Kashmir issue and the hostile environment in the entire region.”

The spokesman said that bombardment of Pakistan-administered Kashmir or Pakistan wouldn’t solve the issues but it will further complicate the issues and it can turn them worse.

“To establish the durable and lasting peace in Jammu & Kashmir it is necessary to address the root cause of this long pending dispute and instead of using the power and force against the Kashmiri nation, India should respect their wishes and aspirations and they should be allowed to decide their future which has been promised to them by the leadership of this country at different occasions,” he said.
