Mirwaiz urges Muslims to emerge above sectarian strife

Srinagar: On the martyrdom anniversary of the fourth Caliph, Hazrat Ali (RA), Hurriyat (M) Chairman and Jammu Kashmir Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema chief, Mirwaiz Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq said his entire life was an example for all Muslims and his bravery and way of life serves as an example not only for Muslims but entire humanity.

Addressing a Waiz-o-Tableeg Majlis during the ‘Ten Days of Salvation’ at Dastgeer Sahab shrine in Sarai Bala before the Asr prayers to an impressive religious gathering, the Mirwaiz said Hazrat Ali (RA) had spent his entire life in the way of Islam and in spreading message of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Stressing that the towering personality of Hazrat Ali (RA) had this honor of being born in the house of Allah – Kabba – and also achieving his martyrdom in the house of Allah – Masjid Koofa – he said Muslims would continue to remember him for his services to Islam and mankind until the Day of Judgement.

Paying tributes to Hazrat Ali (RA) for his services toward Muslim Ummah and mankind and for his selfless sacrifices, the APHC Chairman said until achieving martyrdom, he consistently worked for the honour of Islam and Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and held the baton of Islam high by being a shinning beacon of piousness and wrote his name in the Islamic history with the golden ink.

Emphasizing that Muslims were caught in strife and uncertainty and people living across the entire Islamic world were caught in a quagmire of conflicts and chaos, he said it was unfortunate that Muslims were killing Muslims and damaging the image of Islam by consciously or unconsciously working for the interests of anti-Muslim forces.

Urging Muslims to emerge above sectarian strife, the Mirwaiz said they had no other option but to devise concrete plans to tide over such crises.

He said one of the main reasons of uncertainty and strife in the Islamic world was that Muslims had given up on following the path shown by Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and Chalipa Rashideen and got engaged in the futilities of worldly affairs.

Stressing that the prevailing situation in Muslim countries like Afghanistan, Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Bahrain and Lebanon was of extreme concern, the APHC Chairman said these conflicts cannot disappear without unity among the Muslim world.

Warning Muslims that if they continue to remain caught in sectarian strife and chaos and do not come forward to resolve their own conflicts with unity, he said anti-Islamic forces would continue to benefit from disunity and discord among the Muslims and pitch them up against one another to fulfill their selfish motives.

Laying emphasis on following the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and Calipha Rashideen in letter and spirit, the Mirwaiz said without following their humane teachings and adopting their way of life, it would be hard for Muslims to come out of the matrix and convulsion that they are caught in.

Calling people to show all the more consistency and involvement in the ongoing resistance movement of Kashmir, he said Kashmir struggle had entered into a sensitive phase and though people had sacrificed their lives and properties and continued to do so, they needed to stay united till Kashmir struggle reaches its logical conclusion.
