SRINAGAR: Startup Kashmir, an entity establishing the necessary startup ecosystem in the J&K state kicked off an important component of their services portfolio in the form of entrepreneurship networking under the brand name of Entrepreneur Cafe and IvyNext at Coffea Arabica, Srinagar on Saturday.

Entrepreneur Cafe, a “not for profit” global organization with presence in 120 cities in 6 continents has conducted 3000 events last year with more than 25000 participants globally.
At the launch Shahid Ansari, City Mayor for Entrepreneur Cafe stressed upon the need for creating a vibrant and sustainable ecosystem that can help breed self-driven successful ventures.
Mr. Saadat Hussain, CEO JaKeGA on the occasion spoke about the challenges for the startup community, and stressed that startups should not be driven by the motivation of subsidy. He also gave an insight on various business models that can turn out to be successful ventures in the state.

Nikhil Agarwal, founder Entrepreneur Cafe and CEO innovation for Govt of Andhra Pradesh attended on Skype. He assured that soon they will launch various programs for startups and bring funding and mentorship programs from companies like Google, Microsoft, Reliance, etc to J&K. This is first such event wherein audience was assured that their ideas would be explored by venture capitalists and angel investors.
Sajjad Bazaz, Incharge corporate communications and CSR J&K Bank spoke about how the startup business model needs to be fine-tuned to the local conditions so that it can be successfully implemented in the state.

Subranil Gangabasi, co-founder IvyNext also joined on Skype and gave a brief about the programs they are launching in J&K to help the entrepreneurship development in the state. Rootcamp and mentorship programs are specially designed for early stage startups and are a handholding process run by successful startup folks.
Mr. Jehangir Raina, chairman ICT Association of J&K interacted with the audience and shared his ideas with the budding entrepreneurs. At the event, Mr. Samir Ahsan, CEO Infinity Access Technologies shared his experience and spoke on how to overcome the challenges for startups in the state. The event was also attended by Mr. Sheikh Imtiyaz, MD Comtech Info Solutions and others from various industries.
