Abusing Pakistan Will Not Help Establishing Peace, says Rasheed

SRINAGAR:Independent lawmaker Er Rasheed Saturday had a heated exchange of arguments with BJP, Congress and other MLAs when they asked House to condemn the militant attack in Bijbehara on BSF and pass a resolution to condemn Pakistan, a party statement issued here read.

Reacting sharply Rasheed said that while the loss of life is a matter of concern for everybody but why didn’t BJP utter a single word when army and police “butchered innocent civilians” in Handwara, Kupwara or elsewhere in the state?

Rasheed said, “It is more condemnable and a matter of grave concern when unarmed civilians get killed at the hands of men in uniform. If you really want peace and feel pain of the families, who lost their lives yesterday in Islamabad and elsewhere, the only way to help humanity and save lives is to resolve Kashmir dispute.”

Rasheed also condemned attack on Yasin Malik and his family who were abused and assaulted by police late last night at their residence.

MLA Langate also reminded government that it has seized house of veteran Peoples League Leader Khan Sopori, build on just three marlas of land and the episode itself vindicates the stand of separatists that government has failed to fight them politically.

Rasheed alleged that the family is being forced to live like nomads.
