JKLF sends memorandum to UN Secretary

Srinagar:  JKLF Friday sent a memorandum to the Secretary General UNO.

According to the JKLF statement, it says that the party mentioned in the memorandum these issues which are as: “We the members of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) are here today to register our token protest sit-in outside the office of UNMOGIP, Islamabad against anti-Kashmir policies adopted by India and against the continued human rights violations by Indian occupational forces in Indian Held Kashmir (IHK).

The occupational forces have unleashed reign of terror in the entire State and the draconian laws in place provide them license to kill or to arrest or to search anybody at any point of time without any provocationmerely on the basis of doubt. Excellency, for the last more than six decades people of the entire State of Jammu Kashmir (JK) are struggling for the ‘Right of Independence / Right of Self-determination’ but India has been denying this birth right to us with the use of her military power to which hundreds and thousands of citizens of JK have fallen prey to. However, the Indian occupational forces could not silence peoples’ just voice of freedom but now in order to bring demographic changes in the entire State of JK they have introduced new anti-Kashmir policies like; construction of separate settlements for Indian ex-army men, for internally displaced Kashmiri pandits and for homeless non-residents in Kashmir. They have unlawfully announced to settle non local industrialists by allotting them land in Kashmir and to provide citizenship rights to non-residents of JK.

Excellency, the freedom loving residents of JK have once again stood up against India with the demand to desist from such anti- Kashmir nefarious designs. Leading this peaceful movement, Indian authorities have unlawfully arrested Chairman JKLF, Mr. Muhammad Yasin Malik and detained Chairmen of the two factions of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Mr. Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq along with other senior leaders Shabir Ahmed Shah and Showkat Ahmed Bakhshi at their respective residences in IHK.

Therefore, terming these arrests and house detentions as undemocratic, inhuman and uncalled for, we the protesters here not only condemn this act of India but at the same time demand their early and safe release. Furthermore, we appeal your good-self to influence and impress upon India to shun the path of unlawfully changing the demography of JK.” (PTK)
