NEW DELHI: Around a dozen members of the right-wing Hindu Shiv Sena lit a ritual fire and chanted prayers asking Hindu gods to help Donald Trump win this years US presidential election.
The Hindu Sena nationalist group chanted in Sanskrit, seated on a blanket spread with a collection of statues and photos of a shouting Trump.
The prayers were held on Wednesday in a New Delhi protest park.
Trumps controversial ban on Muslims in America and his policies on how to tackle terrorism groups has made him popular in India.
Trump has also made statements regarding India and Pakistan. In September he said the United States should use Indias help to deal with Pakistan if it becomes unstable.

Trumps statement came in response to Hewitts question regarding what he would do if Pakistan, the most dangerous country in the world other than Iran, became unstable.
Asked whether he would send in US troops to neutralise Pakistans nuclear capability should the country go rogue, Trump replied that he would not reveal his military plans to a potential rival.
Trump has dominated the Republican primary race to decide the partys candidate for the November election
