Srinagar: To the much annoyance of Pharmacy students, the State government has not advertised the posts for Drug Inspectors from past nine years in Jammu and Kashmir.
Last time the posts were advertised in 2009 and since then all the aspirants possessing B.Pharma and M.Pharma degrees are sitting idle waiting anxiously to get adjusted in the drug department.
There are about three hundreds aspirants who have already completed their Pharmacy degrees. Besides these, there are other who are pursuing degrees at present. We are eligible for the posts of Drug Inspector but due to official apathy, no posts are being advertised from last nine years, the unemployed degree holders said.
They said that the authorities referred dozens of posts to the Service Selection Board. However, despite the lapse of 9 years the posts have not been advertised thus, giving sleepless nights to the hundreds of aspirants. The Drug Controller Department has also not followed up the issue of the referral of posts, putting the whole process in a quandary, they said adding that the
delay in the advertisement notice has put the career of hundreds of highly qualified candidates at stake.
An official from Drug Controller Department feigned ignorance about the matter while Minister for Health Bali Bhagat said that it is a serious matter and he will definitely look why the career of the aspirants are being jeopardized. CNS
