Director IIT Kharagpur Interacts with CUK Students

SRINAGAR: Director IIT Kharagpur, Prof P P Chakarborty, Monday interacted with the students of the Department of IT, Central University of Kashmir (CUK), at Nowgam-II block of the varsity.

Registrar, Prof M Afzal Zargar while welcoming the guest stressed upon the importance of inter-university collaboration and the measures taken by CUK towards this goal, a varsity spokesperson said this evening.

In his address, Prof P P Chakarborty deliberated about different projects that are being pursued at IIT Kharagpur which include Signal & System in Life Sciences, Future of Cities, Science & Heritage, Food Security, GIAN and National Digital Library etc.

While responding to the queries of the students, he emphasized that the academic projects need to be focused towards solving the problems prevalent in the society.

Prof A M Wani while appreciating the advice given by the speaker, emphasized on the need of collaborative study and research in engineering and healthcare.
