BUDGAM: Budgam Premier League cricket tournament 2016 began at Sheikhpora today. Deputy Commissioner Budgam Mir Altaf Ahmad declared the tournament open at Shiekpora play field while Vice Chairman District Budgam Sports Council Rifat Abdullah was Guest of honour on the occasion .
Some eighty teams from different districts of Kashmir valley are participating in the tournament. The tournament has been organised by Shiekh-ul-Alam Sports Development Association, Shiekhpora Budgam.
The first match of the tournament was played between Green Land Humhama and Shaikh-ul-Alam Cricket Club Shiekhpora. Green Land Humhama won the toss and elected to bat first. The team scored 140 runs for the loss of eight wickets. In reply, Sheikh-ul-Alam Club achieved the target in 18.3 overs.Sheikh-ul-Alam Club won by 3 wickets.
Arif Ahmad who scored 38 runs and secured one wicket was declared Man of the Match .
