Kansai Nerolac donates ambulances to hospitals in Srinagar

Srinagar: Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd (KNPL), one of the largest decorative paint manufacturers in India, has been actively contributing to the welfare of the local communities. Building on this thought, the pioneers of Healthy Home paints in India – Kansai Nerolac, has donated four ambulances to hospitals in Srinagar, Kashmir. These include Srinagar Hospital (critical care type), Sopore Hospital (van type), Baramulla Hospital (van type) and Anantnag Hospital (van type).

To commemorate this occasion, a handover ceremony was held at Srinagar Medical College earlier this month. This was attended by Dr. Kaiser, Principal of Srinagar Medical College;  Dr. Sameer Mattoo, Director of Health Services; Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, President of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with over 70 people comprising of general public, Nerolac paint dealers and marketers of Nerolac products.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Shrikant Dikhale, Vice President – Human Resources, Kansai Nerolac Paints Limited said, “The health and welfare of the communities that we operate in, have always been important to us. Nerolac has been conducting a gamut of social initiatives under the umbrella of our Corporate Social Responsibility programme. Health, Education, Community Development and Environment have been identified as our key focus areas. We are partnering with stakeholders and organisations locally across India, to help address community needs.  As far as our products are concerned the entire range of our water based emulsions are Low in VOC i.e. Volatile Organic Compounds, contain No Added Lead and are Low Odour making them a healthier and environmentally safer option. We will continue to focus on sustainability and well-being of the communities we operate in.”

Dr. Sameer Mattoo, Director Health Services, Kashmir says, “We are grateful to Kansai Nerolac for having made this beautiful gesture by donating one critical care ambulance and three van type ambulances to four hospitals in Srinagar. This initiative is much appreciated by us all. The ambulance services shall definitely play a vital role during emergencies and natural calamities. We hope that Nerolac will continue to contribute such services even in the future.”

The core objective of Kansai Nerolac has been to use technology to innovate and transform the paints and coatings industry. The pioneering  launch of environment friendly, low VOC and no added lead paints was a significant  milestone not just for Nerolac but the industry as a whole. Nerolac is committed to ‘Healthy Home’ paints and will promote the use of healthy paints that will benefit both consumers and painters as well.
