Work hard to grab avenues in international market: Naeem to students

JAMMU: Minister for Education, Naeem Akthar today called upon engineering students of Jammu and Kashmir to achieve excellence to grab the job opportunities available in international market .

“Professionals cannot be restricted by the community, national or ethnic barriers. They are welcomed everywhere provided they can compete with best of their ability” Naeem told Engineering students at the inauguration  of 2- day Techno Cultural Fest Aaghaz-2016  organised today by Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineer and Technology (MBSCET).

 Patron and founder Trustee of College Mahant Manjeet Singh of Deera Nangali Sahib Poonch, College Chairman, and S Rangil Singh, Advisor Lakhbir Singh, Principal, S K Badyal, Staff and a large number of students were present.

The Minister said International market offers lucrative jobs for engineering professionals of all fields provided they have the required potential to compete.   “Jammu and Kashmir has no dearth of talent as it has produced best of professionals in all fields” he said adding that the present generation has more opportunities and avenues in varied fields  and they  should work hard to create a niche for themselves. 

Expressing his pleasure over a large number of female students in the Engineering College, the Minister said they have got an excellent opportunity to prove their potential. “The women of J&K are competing with men in every filed and it gives me a  lot of happiness to see such a large number of  girls having opted for engineering courses” he added.

He exhorted upon them to remain strong to achieve their goals and fight for the emancipation of their fellow women.

 “Realizing the importance of woman education for the progress of the country, the Government has launched series of programmes and Beti Bachov, Beti Padhav is a path breaking initiative in this direction” he added.

He said woman deserves great respect for the multifaceted role she plays in the development of society and this should be recognised by one and all.

Earlier, the ChairmanS Rangil Singh and the Principal SK Badyal gave detailed resume of the achievements of the college. 

They said the fest has been organised to provide students an opportunity to showcase their ideas, creativity skills and talent in technical, literary and cultural fields.

`The college students also presented a mesmerising cultural bonanza at the inaugural function.
