People of Kupwara haven’t forgotten sacrifices: Er Rasheed

Srinagar: A condolence gathering was organised today at Shalpora Drugmulla to pay tributes to Mohammad Iqbal, martyred in Handwara massacre on 12th April.

Speaking on the occasion AIP chief and MLA Langate Er Rasheed said that unless Kashmir issue is not resolved the incidents like Handwara are bound to happen.

Er Rasheed said, “Let Indian state not mislead the world community and its own people by trying to detach the incident from the real anger and sentiments of people. Let everybody know that from protests over day to day administrative problems to domestic issues, most of these unhealthy incidents end-up at anti-India slogans. The reason for this being simple that GoI has done nothing during last 68 years to resolve the burning humanitarian problem, except buying time and using force against Kashmiris.”

Er Rasheed further added that the remarkable response and resistance shown by whole of district Kupwara over Handwara incident has proved all those analysts wrong who were claiming that people of Kupwara prefer development over sentiment and let everyone understand that the remarkable resistance and huge anger shown by people of Kupwara should be read as writing on the wall that people of this district have not forgotten the huge sacrifices they have offered during last 26 years.
